Hire each assistant by the month. Pay for runs that actually happen.
Each assistant has a monthly hire price (visible on its card). Runs count against your tier-included quota; overages are metered. Pause an assistant; it stops costing money.
Per-assistant monthly hire prices
A run is one scheduled execution of one assistant. The four flagship assistants today:

How runs are counted
One scheduled execution of one assistant equals one run. A run is counted whether it produced output or not (a clean Backlink Watcher run with no flagged links still counts).
Assistant hire prices are billed monthly. Tier subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. Overages metered against the tier-included run pool; you can set a hard cap per workspace.
Pausing an assistant stops both the hire fee and the run consumption from the next billing day forward. Resume any time without re-onboarding.
